Our montessori programme is available to those who are ECCE eligible (2 years & 9 months) for 2 years. Montessori is a method of education that is based on self-directed activity, hands- on learning and collaborative play.
In Montessori classrooms children make creative choices in their learning, while our highly trained teachers offer age- appropriate activities to guide the process. Children work in groups and individually to discover and explore knowledge of the world and to achieve their maximum potential.
Montessori is an education approach for life, each of our classrooms are divided into different areas allowing your child to be independent and lead their own learning and have a sense of belonging, these areas are:
Giving your child the opportunity to develop and practice every day skills- which aids development of concentration and co-ordination skills.
Through the use and exploration of these materials children are encouraged to put in order and classify the physical properties aiding development of fine motor skills and reasoning.
Children can really learn to understand mathematical concepts using Montessori resources and a hands on approach.
Montessori provides an opportunity for children to build early foundations for reading and writing skills. Other activities such as singing, reading and all other communication and language development through all areas of the curriculum are facilitated in Irish and English.
Geography, history, biology, botany, zoology, music, art and creativity are explored using an exploratory and a hands on approach, based on the philosophy that children learn most effectively from experiences.
